I.D.E.A. Newsletter 6: Keystone Habits & Growth Zones

Howdy friends! 👋đŸģI've been working hard this week to try to transfer to a new newsletter service so you may notice things look different, hopefully for the better. Everything's a learning experience! Hope you like this new format I'm testing out. Please shoot me an email with your thoughts! In the meantime, enjoy this issue of I.D.E.A.'s!💙💙💙,PJ

INTERESTING

Recently on a visit to my kid's doctor appointment, I rediscovered this toy I loved. My favorite way of playing with these was grabbing the bottom-most block and swooping it around from one end of the toy to the other. It was always so satisfying feeling it bring the rest of the blocks along for the ride. This made me think about habit stacking from the book, "The Power of Habit". This was a first draft of the idea and I hope to refine it in a future post. 😊

DRAWING

I feel I have an addictive personality so most of my life I've had to be careful with vices. What I've realized recently is the act of creativity itself can become an addiction. I made this tongue in cheek image to say, hey, if you gotta be addicted to something, doing creative work isn't all too bad of a choice.

ENCHANTING

This is more or less my creative process, sprinkled in with experience and moments of serendipity. A lot of ideas come to me when I'm driving or in the shower since these are my quiet times.

ANALOGY

I have a LEGO ship in a bottle sitting in my office. There's something comforting knowing the ship is safe and protected from the outside world so it got me thinking how it's pretty much equal to a comfort zone.

Thanks for Reading!

If you enjoyed this, and know someone who might also dig this kind of stuff, it would mean so much if you could pass along the link to my newsletter.Until next time! Stay Curious! 👋đŸģ-PJ Milani
